About Dr. Cerullo
Leonard J. Cerullo, M.D., is the medical director of the Neurologic & Orthopedic Hospital of Chicago as well as founder and medical director of the Chicago Institute of Neurosurgery and Neuroresearch (CINN). A board-certified neurosurgeon with over 20 years of experience, Dr. Cerullo is widely recognized as one of the nation’s leaders in the field of neurosurgery, and holds the title of professor, Department of Neurosurgery at Rush Medical College . Patients and physicians hold him in high regard for his skill in the diagnosis and treatment of brain tumors and spine disorders. Dr. Cerullo has been instrumental in advancing the use of minimally invasive treatments for a wide range of neurosurgical disorders.
Dr. Cerullo attended medical school at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, followed by Northwestern University Medical School for his neurosurgical residency training. Dr. Cerullo also held two fellowships: a fellowship in neuroradiology at the Neurological Institute of New York, Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, New York, and a fellowship in transphenoidal and craniofacial surgery at Hôpital Foch, Suresnes, France.
Following his training, Dr. Cerullo joined the medical staff of Northwestern Memorial Hospital and was appointed assistant professor of neurosurgery at Northwestern University Medical School. In 1987, Dr. Cerullo founded CINN.
